Dover the Journey to Normandy

So the time has come when we pack up and make the long journey to La Cote De Nacre in Normandy.

Unfortunately I had an appointment this morning and so we were unable to leave as early as I would have liked.

We packed up last night and at around 2pm we left the SouthWest of the UK to head to Dover.

It’s our first time on the Dover to Calais crossing as we normally travel from Plymouth to Roscoff.

The journey was great bearing in mind it’s Easter weekend. All the traffic was heading in the opposite direction and there were no accidents or significant delays.

We arrived at our hotel for the night which is th Ramada Inn at Dover. Although not overly pricey I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The reception was inviting and the reataurant and bar seemed popular and pleasant.

I’d booked two rooms which have two double beds in ech and an interconnecting door between them. The beds were very comfy and the facilities were also very good. I will upload some photos shortly but I have to admit I’m impressed by the closeness to the ferry port and the overall standard.
